About this class:
In this four-session intermdiate / advanced course on Native American flute, we will work both individually and as a group, exploring possibilities to improve our skills and to develop our playing and creativity:
♦ Song writing and structure
♦ Creative improvisation
♦ Individual style and interpretation
♦ Musicianship
[Are you new to Native American flute or want to brush up on your skills? Have a look at the Level 1 and Level 2 classes in this series.]

Course fee: $95
* A pentatonic Native American flute is required for this class. If you need one, a high quality flute will be provided upon requset for an additional $50.

Instuctor: Cornell Kinderknecht
Cornell Kinderknecht is a World Flutes performing and recording artist as well as a teacher. He currently has two solo albums to his credit and can be heard on numerous other artists' recordings. He has a private studio of flute students in Dallas and is in demand as a performer and presenter at music workshops and festivals around the US. With his expertise, he provides practical hands-on instruction while his light-hearted approach puts students at ease. Cornell has been a Texas Music Awards nominee twice and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of Earth Rhythms.
Requirements / Pre-requisites:
Requirements for this course:
  1. Students should have either one of these pre-requisites:
    • Attended previous levels (1 & 2) in this series of classes
              OR
    • Intermediate through advanced experince with the Native flute
  2. A pentatonic Native American flute is required for this class. If you need one, a high-quality flute will be provided upon request ($50 material cost). The key of A-minor is prefered for exercises that we play together as a class.
  3. Experience with NAF tablature is helpful.
  4. Curiosity, willingness to experiment, and a the desire to have fun while learning music.
