Houston World Flutes Concert and Workshop

Join award-winning recording artist and performer, Cornell Kinderknecht
for a day of musical events in the Houston, Texas area.
Cornell will present a concert (open to the public) at 4pm. All
are welcome (advance tickets available below). Prior to the concert,
Cornell will hold a workshop for players of the Native American flute.
Hosted by the Spring Cypress Native American
Flute Circle.

Come join us for a fun and experiential workshop on playing this
beautiful instrument. Develop your own unique sound and find your
song.
Players of ALL LEVELS are welcome. We'll explore creative use of
the flute and ideas to expand our playing. Along the way, we'll
also touch upon other topics such as finger control and
technique.
Flutes in A-minor recommended for group instruction. If you have
multiple flutes in A-minor, please bring along if you're willing to
share with someone who might not have that key. Also bring
any other flutes you may want to play.
(we'll take a short break for lunch during the workshop)

World Flutes Concert

Join Cornell Kinderknecht for a beautiful and moving concert
of music on world flutes, including Native American flute, bansuri,
ocarina, bamboo flutes, and others. This concert is open to the
public. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.

Biography:
Cornell Kinderknecht is an award-winning recording artist,
performer, and instructor of flutes
from around the world. In addition to his own solo albums, his work
can be heard on numerous other artists' recordings across many genres.
He has a private studio of flute students in Dallas and is in demand
as a performer and presenter at music workshops and festivals around
the US. With his expertise, he provides practical interactive
instruction while his light-hearted approach puts students at
ease. Cornell is an Indian Summer Music Awards winner, an early rounds
Grammy nominee and has twice been a Texas Music Awards nominee. He is the director of the Pacific Northwest Native American Flute Gathering and
currently serves on the Board of Directors of the United States
Ocarina Association.
